Shidoshi David Silverman

I started my training as a graduate student at the University of Southern California and have been teaching Dux Ryu Ninjitsu (DRN) for over 17 years there. I also have been awarded the title of Shidoshi ( 4 ways of the corpse) by Hanshi Frank Dux (not to be confused with the Iga System's similar title which means, licensed instructor.) and have received the rank of 6th dan in Dux Ryu Ninjitsu. Over the years, I have studied with many other martial art systems, including Brazilian jujitsu, traditional Jujitsu, Aikido, Kenjitsu, and Judo, but I feel that DRN is the most comprehensive and effective system.

I grew up in the San Fernando Valley and have chosen that as the location for my school. Outside of martial arts, I have a Ph.D. in engineering from UCLA and am a licensed civil engineer. I have taught at both UCLA and Berkeley. I am also a PADI SCUBA diving IDC Staff Instructor, as well as a CPR/1st Aid instructor.
